Over 25 Opposition Parties in Ebonyi Begin Coalition Move.
--Warn Stakeholders Against Political Rancour, Bitterness.

In their plan to wrestle power with the ruling government in Ebonyi State, Twenty-seven opposition parties chairmen under the aegis of Umuekumenyi Coalition of Political Parties, CUCPP,on Thursday 18th July, 2018 begin talk on coalition in Abakaliki.
   The group which comprises of twenty-seven parties out of thirty-five registered political parties in the state began its merger talk just few days after PDP national body publicly announced its signing of memorandum of understanding, MOU,hence,advised political stakeholders and entire Ebonyians to shun politics of rancour and bitterness.
  In communique made available to us shortly after their monthly meeting held at People's Club,Abakaliki as signed by Prince Inya Pius,Chairman Umuekumenyi Coalition of Political Parties, Comrade, Chibueze Odigwe,secretary and Deacon Oyibe Stanley,public Relation Officer, resolve that peace is paramount to national development, therefore, charged youths,women and the entire people of the state to be diligent in their engagement in political activities as the electioneering period draw nearer.
In his presentation, Prince Inya,UPP, State chairman commended security agencies in the state, charging them to add more effort in discharging their duty to ensure adequate security in all parts of the State.
   It reads in part," Umuekumenyi Coalition of State political parties chairmen in Ebonyi state advised Ebonyi state political stakeholders, youths,women and entire Ebonyians not to play politics of rancour and bitterness.
"That Umuekumenyi coalition further resolved that after harmonization of their different gubernatorial and national Assembly aspirants, will soon come up with a sole candidate credible and generally acceptable by all the political parties for 2019 general election.
He cautioned the youths of Umuekumenyi not to allow themselves to be used as thugs come gubernatorial elections, even, as he appealed that they obtained permanent voter's card, as it would serve as the only tool to deciding who represent in both state and national Assembly.
   Prince Inya, state Chairman, UPP, called members of the party to remain steadfast as the party would ensure it deliver its candidates come 2019.
    However, Hon.Obiya Sabastine,state chairman Labour party described their coming together as good decision made at the right time considering that the unity was targeted at moving the group forward.
Also, Udem Florence, Alliance for Democracy state chairman thanked the state police for stiff action taken against the impersonator of the party recently in the state.
