ACD Guber Candidate Narrowly Escapes Assassination
--Receives Elders Blessing After.

The Advance Congress of Democrats party chairman who is also the gubernatorial candidate, Splendour O.Eze on 23rd December, 2018 was attacked and left half dead for an alleged refusal to drop his political ambition.
According to Mr.Eze in press briefing held at Afikpo his hometown, stated that on the faithful day,the newly elected chairman of Inter Party Advisory Council, Hon.Jenifer Adibe invited all party chairmen for meeting at the IPAC office located at no.2 Afoke street,opposite Pa.Ngele Oruta Stadium, Abakaliki.
Consequently, the IPAC chairman argued that all their group members should adopt the incumbent governor of the state which he declined alongside other chairmen of different parties.
Mr.Eze maintained that he was out to contest and win the election arguing that he would not trade his ambition for any form of threat or intimidation.
To his greatest surprise, he said, the IPAC chairman placed call on Ebonyi state youth leader,Hon.Mark Onu and his team of fifteen able bodied men arrived at the scene and bundled him into their bus with no number plate for an unknown destination.
He narrated that those boys took him to the back of Ebonyi Hotel where he found himself inside an uncompleted building and after severely tortured was asked to say his last prayer.
He further said to have been asked to renounce his gubernatorial ambition if he wishes to be free but after thoroughly beaten to an extend that he went to coma,the boys came back to the building and untie him and he managed to craw out of the place before team of policemen on patrol saw him and took him to hospital for treatment.
However, the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer,DSP Loveth Odah confirmed that the Guber candidate brought the report and Police had invited the accused persons who denied having involved in such unholy act but maintained that investigation was still ongoing.
Nevertheless, on 1st January, 2019 the Guber candidate received elders blessings from the traditional elders of the community.
The traditional rite took place at Egugwu play ground, in Afikpo North LGA, Ebonyi State among witness are the Ekpuke-eto, Ekpuke-esa and Onikara who rally round to give him their blessings.
Some of the elders who spoke after the ritual are Okpani Ukpai and Eluu Irem who assured the Guber candidate and his house of Assembly flag bearers of their undivided votes,appealing that fair ground should be given to all political party flag bearers irrespective of party platform as that would be the only way to prove that democracy has come to be.
