PUAN Inaugurates Executives in Ebonyi

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the group popularly known as Polling Unit Ambassadors of Nigeria (PUAN), has on Thursday 14th October,2021 inaugurated her State, Zonal and Local Government executives to pilot the affairs of the organizeation in the State. Addressing newsmen shortly after the inauguration in Abakaliki, the Ambassador General of Polling Unit Ambassador of Nigeria, Captain Suleiman Dabas, observed that Nigeria as a sovereign State endowed with abundant human and natural resources saying that bad leadership among political leaders, vote buying, snatching of ballot paper among others have engendered voters apathy among electorates. He stated that PUAN is a non partisan organization with people of timbre and calibers which poised towards enthroning good leadership and public accountability through sensitization of electorates the need to have their PVC's as a major tool to vote out non performing politicians and active participation in politics. Recalled that previous elections in the Country recorded high level of voting apathy and added that one of the ways to disabuse the minds of the electorates is to use the instrumentality of the public enlightenment campaign and also meeting with stakeholders during a town hall meetings across all the polling units in the country. He noted that electronic transmission of voting should be embrace to move the country forward and charged all the members in the State to strategize and put their members on ground in the various polling units in the upcoming 2023 elections and resisted any attempt of ballot snatching among others. The newly inaugurated deputy Ambassador general South East Zone Ambassador Ogbuefi Zaccheaus Ifeuwabundidi maintained that the organization has been accredited by INEC to Monitor electoral activities in Nigeria. He encouraged Ebonyians and South East Zone to massively participate on the ongoing voter's card registration to enable them vote credible candidate of their choice during elections and pledged to do everything within his powers to ensure that states in South East Zone are inaugurated. The chairman of the polling unit Ambassadors in the State, Ambassador Chuks Igwe Solomon expressed satisfaction over the success recorded at the event and called all and sundry to join hands together with PUAN to champion of course of good governance in the country. He added that the coming on board of PUAN would help to fast track and change the political narratives in all the States in Nigeria.
