2023: Prof Nwuzor Calls For Women Inclusiveness In Governance

BY NDUBUISI NWOGHA, ABAKALIKI The immediate past Senior Special Assistant to Ebonyi state governor on Higher Education, professor Adaeze Nwuzor on weekend calls for support of women in leadership position in the forthcoming general election.
Professor Nwuzor made the call during the conferment of her "Nnedu Oha Ree" traditional title at Abarigwe Agalegu Ishieke Community day celebration. She noted that the important of women inclusiveness in governance cannot be overemphasized, adding that history has proven that women are good managers of resources which is replicated among those who have served in various positions in Ebonyi State. Professor Nwuzor who was a former Executive Chairman, Ebonyi Local Government Area, described the honour accorded on her as a show of love and recognition of the role of women to societal development.
The former Senior Special Assistant who was visibly elated during the event appreciated the community leaders for founding her worthy of the honour and pledged to continue giving her support to the development of the area. According to her," I am grateful to the people of Abarigwe Agalegu Ishieke community for honouring me today been the first time they are celebrating this type of event by assembling all their sons and daughters to honour them for their contributions towards the development of our community and Ebonyi state at large. "My promise to our people is that, I will continue to serve them because to serve is to love and to love is to serve and I dedicated the award to my husband,Hon. justice Laz Nwuzor because he made me who I am today. "We are calling on government to integrate women to be part of administration cum governance because nature has proven that they're good managers and on that note, calling on all women who are at voting age to ensure that they obtain voter card since it's only through voting that we'll decide who rule us come 2023. In his remarks, the traditional ruler of Agalegu Ishieke Mgbomeze Community, His Royal Highness, Eze Solomon Iboza while commending their sons and daughters honoured described the honour for their immense contributions to the development of the area and Ebonyi state at large, hence, charged them to continue to promote peace and unity of the community. Others honoured during the event are: Ebonyi state Commissioner For Capital City and Urban Development, Barr Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Chief Emma Nwojiji, the village head, Mr Simon Igboke, former youth leader among others. Highlights of the day was decorations of the traditional title by the Traditional Ruler of Ishieke Mgbomeze community, Eze Solomon Iboza and members of his council.
