Intl Market: Phone Accessories Dealers Appeal For Better Business Environment In Abakaliki

BY NDUBUISI NWOGHA, ABAKALIKI Dealers of mobile phone accessories in Magret Umahi International Market Abakaliki yesterday raises alarm over continuous attack by agent of Ebonyi state government and appealed for more space for better business environment in the market.

Speaking Mr Ogbonnaya Okafor (Marshall), one of the state executive of the union explained that the traders have been battling to survive in the state over the time since they moved into the new market. "Our plights started since we relocated from Abakpa Main market to Magret Umahi International Market when members had an agreement between traders and the state government on how we'll move traders to the new market in line with getting desired results by Ebonyi state government while traders enjoy their business. " But when traders finally came in, we started seeing different results with first; the members of the allocation committee bridging our request for supposed block one to be occupied by phone accessories traders. "I requested to pay any amount they demanded where we requested for four houses in lot 1 but they bluntly refused and opted for lot 3, since, they gave us only three houses and since has been having misunderstanding as more than twenty traders now occupy one shop.

One of the traders who spoke on ground of anonymity hinted that the action taken by the allocation committee has continued to hunt traders and appealed to Ebonyi state government to relocate them to lot 1 as they are ready to pay for cost of shops or give them more shops in the lot 3. He decried high level of backwardness faced by those in the business sequel to the development, and added that " more number of traders now acquire a shop than goods inside the place".

In another development, another source who spoke on ground of anonymity emphasized that he was attached and brutally brutalized for challenging one of the government agents and urged the state governor to intervene in their course as to achieve the desire target of achievable economic stability in the state.
