Crisis Brew As Ebonyi IPAC Suspends PDP, 4 Other Party Chairmen

--They're jokers and didn't deserve our attention- PDP BY NDUBUISI NWOGHA, ABAKALIKI The Inter Party Advisory Council,IPAC, Ebonyi State chapter on weekend announced the suspension of the state chairman People's Democratic Party, Mr Toochukwu Okorie and four other members over alleged gross misconduct and other illegalities.
This was contained in a release made available to newsmen as signed by the Council's state chairman who also doubles as Action Alliance state chairman,Hon Obasi James Alina in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital. Members said to had been affected are among, Mr Toochukwu Okorie, Ebonyi State chairman, People's Democratic Party, Deacon Onyibe Stanley,Young Progressive Party state chairman, Comrade Morgan Nwogba, ADC, Mr Ani Pascal Ndubuisi of Accord party, and Comrade Obiya Sabastine, state chairman, Zenith Labour Party.
Accordingly, the state Council hinted that the action of the suspension took effect from 16th February,2022 as the earring members ceased to make any contribution, participate, or benefit from any entitlements accrued to the opposition Party body as much as the suspension last. The Council, however, passed vote of confidence on the state chairman, Hon Obasi James Alina and assured the national leadership of ensuring that the earring members are readmitted into the Council any time they retract their ways and apologized for disobeying the Council's code of conduct as the decision for their suspension was for the best interest of the opposition body. According to the Council, the suspension followed recommendations of three-members disciplinary committee which is inline with the provision of section 3, subsection 3:3 (B) paragraph D iii numbers i-vii of the revised code of conduct for registered political parties in Nigeria (2021) and also breaches of section 9 (Rule of law) of revised code of conduct for registered political parties in Nigeria (2021). However, the council accused suspended members of running a parallel Council in the state, forgery of the council's document with the intention of misinforming and defrauding the public, constituting threat to members of the council among others.
People's Democratic Party Chairman Reacts: The Peoples'Democratic Party chairman,Mr Toochukwu Okorie described the state Council as jokers who did deserve attention they're seeking for and added that the opposition body has failed in the state. He stated that the speculation of some party Chairmen been suspended is a beer parlour discussion as it does not represent the constitution of IPAC"those who purported that some party Leaders in the state have been suspended don't have the power to do so but just acting on beer parlour conversation. When asked his stand on the alleged forgery of signatory on petition filed against the state IPAC demanding the cancelation of their recently held election which also had his party signatory , Mr Okorie said" This is why I described the allegations as beer parlour conversation, how would you say that your signature was forged and you cannot be able to say who had forged your signature. you can't bring a document that's titled concern persons and it has about ten signatures and you can't tell who forged your signature. Meanwhile, the immediate past state chairman of Inter Party Advisory Council, Comrade Morgan Nwogba faulted the claims and described the leadership as attention seekers.
