Ebonyi: New Nigeria People's Party Elects New Leadership

BY VIVIAN ALOBU, ABAKALIKI The New Nigeria People's Party,( NNPP) on Tuesday swored-in Ebonyi State party chairman, Hon Chukwu Solomon Monday and his executives.
However, the party also inaugurated its executive members of the thirteen Local Government Areas and I71 wards in the state through consensus to pilot the affairs of the party. The new executives emerged during the congress of the party in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
Addressing journalists shorty after the congress, the chairman, Ebonyi state congress committee, Alhaji Kabiru Getso Haruna, said the election was conducted in conducive atmosphere, devoid of rancour, bitterness and acrimony, describing it as the most peaceful exercise ever in the State. He congratulated the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for given them a level playground to operate while commending the party faithfuls for turning out en mass which made the congress recorded huge success.
Alhaji Kabiru who observed that the ruling All Progressive Congress and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have really deceived the entire Nigerians in its leadership styles, said that the Party has come to reposition the Country and better the life of the citizens in the 2023 general election. According to him, "With the party, NNPP in Nigeria and Ebonyi state, we have put all the necessary arrangements in place so that by 2023 will take over power. I am assuring you that with this party Nigerians will laugh again; also, gain peace, security and progress we have been yearning for". "Nigerians need a formidable party that can deliver them and NNPP happens to be one of them, i believed immediately this congress is over, by the time we start rolling out our plans, and programmes before you know it Nigerians will massively join us in this party, by the grace of God, we will take over the Country" He noted that with the new amended electoral bill, election manoeuvering would be trashed by 80% and expressed hope that the party would win 2023 general elections in the Country.
In their separate speeches, the chairman Board of Trustee, (BOT) Chief Boniface Ibeogu, the State Secretary of the party Mr. John Ugbo, as well as, the chairman of the party, in Ikwo Local Government Area, Mr. Nwamkpuma Friday, all charged the newly elected executives to work assiduously towards making the party proud in the State. They, however, charged the party faithfuls and Ebonyians to participate massively on the ongoing voters card registration and revalidation exercise to deliver the party and the Nigerians from political quagmires. They further urged the leaders to embrace transparency and maintain accountability in their dealings to enable the party thrive in the state. Earlier, the new State chairman, Hon. Chukwu Solomon Monday lauded members of the party for finding him worthy to serve and expressed his commitment towards lifting the party to the enviable height. He pledged to carry members along and run an open door adminstration to move the party forward. The state party chairman also pledged to ensure that the party take over Ebonyi State in the forthcoming general election. Meanwhile the congress was witnessed by officials from Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security personnel.
