High Court Judgement: Signal Of Returning Democracy In Nigeria--Ebonyi YPP State Chair

BY NWOGHA NDUBUISI, ABAKALIKI The Ebonyi state chairman of Young Progressives Party,YPP, has described the federal High Court judgement on Ebonyi Governor defection as a signal of returning democracy in Nigeria. Deacon Oyibe made the statement in a letter signed by him and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
Recall that the federal High Court sitting at Abuja on Tuesday faulted the defection of the sitting governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Umahi, from the People's Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. According to Justice Ekwor Inyang judgement, the court noted that PDP gave Umahi the mandate he's currently enjoying and as such should vacate the office for the People's Democratic Party. The state party chairman noted,"the action will stop the madness among some selfish politician who think they are God when they are in power. He further urge INEC to obey the rule of law by ensuring the processing of high curt judgment. "Vote belongs to party not individuals who take shelter in the party for position. My advise to Ebonyi youth is to be careful not to be used as a tool for destruction, let the law decide". END
