Umahi Orders Immediate Payment Of Pensions, Release Of Workers Promotion

BY NWOGHA NDUBUISI, ABAKALIKI Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state Monday ordered immediate payment of pension to retired civil servants in the state.

There have been complains by many senior citizens as the pensioners are often called that they have been owed for a long time except for the period government ordered for half payment of their pension. Similarly, Umahi same Monday ordered for release of promotion to deserved civil servants. A statement signed by the Commissioner of Information and state orientation, Uchenna Orji revealed that the governor gave the instructions during the state Executive meeting on Monday. The brief statement reads; ” the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi FNSE, FNATE (Akubaraoha), has graciously approved the release of the promotion of Civil Servants for the years 2019, 2020 and 2021 to all deserving Civil Servants in the State. “His Excellency the Governor has also approved the payment of Pension to all Pensioners in the State with effect from 22nd March 2022”. It was gathered that workers in the state have undergone several promotion interviews without government effecting it in their Gene 35. Source said, “this is good, it means they are going to effect it in our gen 35. We have been going for promotion interviews, even the last one was done last year but was never effected, all they do was to post the results on the notice board”.
