BY Nwogha Ndubuisi, Abakaliki
Ebonyi state female governorship aspirant under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, professor Adaeze Nwuzor weekend challenged women to participate fully in determining who led the state come 2023.
Professor Nwuzor made the call while fielding response from journalists in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state.
According to the former executive chairman, Ebonyi Local Government Council who pointed out fund as the major challenge depriving women from full participation in the Country's politics called on spouses to give their wives more support as they are better financial managers.
The governorship aspirant described God as her strength to vying for the position as she explained that leadership comes from God who determines who succeeds the present administration under Chief David Umahi.
While speaking about being the only woman who have indicated interest in the Guber position, Professor Nwuzor said going into the race is not to compete equality with men folk since both genders are never thesame from creation but" in administration what matters is your credibility, competence, vision to serve and readiness to serve the people.
"We understand that leaders should be readers and not pullers since it's not about whether man or woman but readiness to serve and effect positive impact in the society.
"During my consultation and sensitization on voters education, I encourage our women to understand that there's nothing wrong for us to contest any position like Ebonyi LGA where we have had two females Council Chairmen and for me, what matters is courage and once it's there, you are free to come out and contest.
"We are not coming out to challenge anybody but to serve our people because I always say it that women are born to manage things including money, men and other resources which they naturally do better.
"When you think back home, everybody comes from a home and looking keenly you see that women are the best manager of every home be it the mother, daughter or wife.
"So, I challenge our Ebonyi women to come out and pick form while calling on political parties to encourage our women to participate fully in the forthcoming election.
"Yes, the capital and encouragement may not be there due to non availability of support but days have gone when women sit by the side and watch how leaders emerge.
"This is no longer era when women don't own a land or other properties, so, our husbands should support their wives to buy form and contest for the positions of Councillors, House of Assembly,Reps and senates.
"I assure Ebonyians that if given the mandate that I will serve as hope for justice because if there's justice, there will be love, and if there's love, there will be peace, unity and progress which bring development in every areas of the society.
Professor Nwuzor emphasized that commercializing agriculture would bring end to youth restiveness as it would consolidate her plan to bring unemployment to it's bearrest minimum.
She highlighted human capital development, security, revamping of primary health care sector and general improvement of workers welfare as major areas her government would focused on if elected as governor of the state.
