2023: Why Chief G.O Ogbaga Should Be Given Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone APC Ticket

By Nwogha Ndubuisi, Abakaliki Concern group on weekend has expressed their feeling on the political upturns in the Ebonyi North senatorial zone which comprises of Abakaliki, Izzi, Ebonyi and Ohaukwu Local Government Areas.

Ebonyi North according to the group, with its zoning formula has since the inception of democracy given opportunity to the three other councils to produce a Senator except Ebonyi LGA, hence, appealed to both stakeholders of the party at the zone to support Chief Goddy Ogbaga (Ezeudo) to succeed the sitting Senator, Dr Sam Egwu in the forthcoming general election. In a statement issued by the group after their stakeholders meeting and made available to newsmen reads: "Reasons, Why Chief G.O.Ogbaga Should Be Given Ebonyi North Senatorial Zone APC Ticket.

"The people of Ebonyi North senatorial zone are bitterly complaining, feeling shortchanged by the previous unreliable representatives. Hardly does anyone see any bold constituency projects in the zone. This has left many questions in the minds of the constituents: How did we get here? How come the Ebonyi North representative is not reckoned with in the scheme of things in the National Assembly? How come our Zone is classified as bench-warmers who came to earn wages and collect constituency allowance? How come the abundant tourism & agricultural potentials lying fallow in our Zone tremain untapped and ignored by the FG? Definitely everyone recognises the fact that it is time for a change to happen. Since the incumbent has done the job very poorly, An Articulate person in the Person of Chief G.O.Ogbaga definitely stands a good chance to get the mandate of the people to represent them at National Assembly effectively. But this will depend on the options available. Without any iota of doubt, it is certain that Chief G.O.Ogbaga, with his track record of accomplishments, would help APC fulfill this mandate. APC faithfuls, stakeholders and delegates should not elect anyone whose intellectual capacity is very low to speak for the people. The People are saying that Ebonyi North senatorial zone has not done well with the representation of people from IzzI and Ohaukwo Local Government areas since democracy in 1999, hence the clamour to send an Ebonyi Local Government Person and APC having a man such as Chief G. O. Ogbaga should put him to good use now.
