Ofokansi Nwachinemere, a highlife musician based in Ebonyi State, says his brand of music is to preach hard work and promote culture amongst his people and beyond. He said while concluding video shoot of his debut, as well as the official launching of his brand. Nwachinemere said his music involves movement to different parts of Igbo land and spreading messages to encourage hard work and promoting culture. He recalled that his career started as a drummer boy at the age of twelve, noting it was not a smooth ride but expressed confidence that his journey had been accompanied by good success. "Music is a gift; my mother was a musician. I started my music career from playing band, dancing, before fully i began to sing. "l started my music career as a drummer at 12 years and has been in the music industry until now, 29-years and still counting our glory". he said. Music they say is a food for the soul, however, Ofokansi Nwachinemere believes that his music has a message for the youths and elders. "In life, we gain success through what is destined to us and whatever that our hand findeth; we should do with our heart and might, knowing that after sun must come the rain. "When we started, it was not easy but today, we're not looking for money but how to sell our name and messages." Nwachinemere said. He believes that everyone must strife to work hard and become successful, which is why he preaches hard work through his music. "My favourite track is "Excess Dues" onye mebe ife ego because one needs to work hard to earn respect among his peers and that's what we encourage in my music. "Wealth is not one man's inheritance but when many are successful and that's our prayer that God should raise our generation men who will make Ndi Ebonyi and entire Igbo proud" he added.
