2023: Buhari has directed Tinubu, Osinbajo to step down for S’east candidate — Report

President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly directed the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, Vice president Yemi Osinbajo and other presidential aspirants of the party, to step down for a Southeast candidate, Harvard trained attorney, Emeka Ugwuonye reveals.
The founder of Due Process Advocates in an opinion piece titled, “A CRITICAL STAGE HAS BEEN REACHED IN THE CHOICE OF THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA”, said President Buhari made the great decision in the interest of Nigeria. Emeka further explained that this must have been on the mind of the President when he bluntly turned down the request of Igbo leaders for the release of Nnamdi Kanu. According to the human rights lawyer, the President could have done that earlier but he wanted the party to use the sell of expression of interest and nomination forms as a means of raising funds for the party. Part of the report reads, “Each time I make a prediction, I take a huge risk. I take the risk of failing and consequentially losing my record as an intelligent and unbeatable predictor of our time. And secondly, I run the risk of annoying those who would have preferred to keep things secret till the last minute. For denying them the element of surprise, they cannot be happy with me for my predictions. But I am about to make a prediction again. “I believe that the President of Nigeria has directed Tinubu and Osinbajo and other APC politicians to drop their presidential ambitions in order to make way for a candidate from the South East. The President could have done that earlier. But he wanted the party to use the forms as means of raising funds and the party raised nearly 25 billion so far. “So, the next President of Nigeria will be an APC politician from the South East. It is obvious now who that will most likely be. I think the President has made a great decision in the interest of Nigeria. The people of the South East should be able to produce the next President of Nigeria. This must have been on the mind of the President when he boldly turned down the request of Igbos for the release of Nnamdi Kanu. The President must have known that he was about to take a step that would make the Igbos happy. He must have felt that even if they felt unhappy over the rejection of their request on Nnamdi Kanu, they will be compensated more than adequately by reserving the presidency for them. “This decision is in the interest of Nigerian unity. And it will solve and address many Nigerian problems all the way back to the civil war. With an Igbo man as the President, other minor issues such as pardon for Nnamdi Kanu and others will be addressed easily
