2023: PDP Guber Aspirant Appeals To Ebonyians Against Vote Selling

Ebonyi State Governorship aspirant under the umbrella of Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP) Dr. Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh has called on Ebonyians to desist from highest bidder politics of selling their votes to wrong people who place them on perpetual hunger and poverty. This is even as he charged them to check track records of every candidates vying for one political position or the other to prevent abuse of power and corruption. Ezeh made this known on Monday ,2nd May, 2022 during an interactive forum with members of the Civil Society Organization, CSOs in Abakaliki. He described those who engage in violence during politics as weak and urge the people to speak and stand for the truth, while enjoining all to investigate every candidate to help curb corruption in the public service. According to him,“We need to investigate the past records of every candidate vying for public offices, why? Because you cannot change the past records of every candidates irrespective of how sugar coated their tongues are to buy your votes. Forget what every candidates is saying, we must investigate every candidate to know if they worths being our leaders that will make positive change especially in line with global challenge, if I have been in power and have not begin to empower anyone , then I am part of the problem.if I am a tout and I am given power, I will become a thief. “ "As a tout who eventually elected into position, you can't change the person, but you rather empower him the more.he elaborates The gubernatorial hopeful who anchors his governance on three pillars of recovery , rebuilding and restoration of Ebonyi State, warned Ebonyians against selling the State to the highest bidder as that would mortgage the future of the State and children yet unborn. While maintaining that every actions has consequence that one would be accountable for, he enjoined Ebonyians to stand on the path of truth and desist from mortgaging the future of the youths. The Oxford trained entrepreneur further maintained that his administration would be anchored on the people , especially the ordinary people and will create job opportunities for the youths. He decried the insecurity challenges facing the south East as a zone stating that “the East is dying a slow but painful death, our youths need jobs, our small businesses need a supportive environment to thrive, and the time we are in calls for entrepreneurs, intectuals and technocrats to get involved in politics and political process. ” He further encouraged citizens of the State to participate actively in politics and solve the underlying issues affecting the State. “We must encourage our people to get into politics, we must leave the surface and go down to begin to solve the problem, if we don’t do that, nobody will do that for us. "We need to talk to ourselves and now that politics is not for evil people ,but for everybody to make things good”
