Ogbaga, Nwankwegu Others Hail Buhari, Recommend Umahi To Succeed Him In 2023

By Amuche Agbo, Abakaliki Some critical stakeholders in Ebonyi State have continued to pour an encomiums and solidarity to the President of Nigeria, President Mohammadu Buhari on his two-day working visit to commission mega projects built by Governor David Umahi led adminstration in the State.
They made their feelings known while interacting with newsmen in Abakaliki, the State capital. Speaking, the former Minister of State for Power and Steel, Chief Goddy Ogbaga,(a.k.a Ezeudo) congratulated President Buhari for his love to Ebonyi people which had made him to come to the State twice in this present adminstration, described it as a round peg in a round hole while wishing him a happy stay in the State.
Chief Ogbaga, the front line Ebonyi North Senatorial aspirant who joined other Ebonyians to welcome the President called on him to give Governor Umahi chance to succeed him come 2023 general elections so as to replicate his infrastructural and human development in Ebonyi State to the Nation at large and called on the six geopolitical zones in the Country to support Governor Umahi's Presidential ambition to change the narratives of the Country. Also, speaking, the State Commissioner for environment, Grant and Donor Agencies, Dr. Richard Nnabu who highlighted the achievements of Governor Umahi within seven years in office, and described the presidential visit to the State twice as timely going by the lofty achievements of Engr. David Umahi and however pleaded Nigerians to give the Governor chance to emerge as president to strengthen the Country's democracy. On his part, the former Commissioner for Education and presently the Member One in the Ebonyi State Universal Basic Education Board, Chief Sabinus Nwankwegu eulogize President Buhari for his visit to the State and urged him to choose Umahi as his successor among other aspirants going by his track records as Governor, expressing hope that Umahi if given the opportunity would ensure the unity, peace, security and massive development in the Country. In their separate contributions, the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Matters and Rural Development, Chief Donatus Njoku, the chairman of Izzi Local Government Area Hon. Paul Nwogha and the chairman of Nigeria Medical Association Ebonyi State Chapter Dr. Benjamin Umezuruike enjoined Nigerians to continue being supportive to the policies and programmes of the APC Federal and State Government as it would help the citizens to reap more dividends of democracy. Other contributors including the special assistant to the Governor on sustainable development goals Dr. Ngozi Obichukwu, the senior special assistant to the Governor on environment Prince Sunday Ugwuocha, the chairman of International market lot one Chief Peter Oba, the chairman National association of traditional medicine practitioners Ebonyi State chapter Chief Augustine Ekechi among others commended Governor Umahi for living up his campaign promises which has made the State a tourist center and prayed God to elevate him to the position of Mr. President in the upcoming general elections in the Country.
