Just In:Court Nullifies Rescheduled Ebonyi PDP's Primary

By Nwogha Ndubuisi, Abakaliki Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital has on Tuesday nullified the rescheduled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election.
The election which was held on 4th and 5th June, was quashed by Justice Fatun Roman who upheld the primary of 28th and 29th May 2020, which was cancelled by the National Working Committee(NWC) of the party.
The Court also restrained the party from refusing to receive and transmit the name of Chief Ifeanyi Ọdii who won the cancelled governorship primaries as the candidate of the party for Ebonyi 2023 governorship election. Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on 28th and 29th May, conducted its primary election at the party's secretariat where Chief Ifeanyichukwu Odii(Anyichuks) emerged as the gubernatorial candidate. Also recall was that the party called for the cancellation of the exercise,hence, uphold Mr Toochukwu Okorie as new state party chairman while they sacked Barr Silas Onu.
