YPP Conducts Hitch Free Primary Election In Ebonyi

The Young Progressives Party, YPP, on weekend conducted hitch free primary election in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital. Announcing the outcome of the primary, the electoral committee chairman, Mr Nwanga Basil Chijioke commended the candidates for maintaining decorum during the exercise. Speaking one of the senatorial candidates,Hon Nwonu Sunday thanked the electoral committee chairman for the transparent election and the newly inaugurated state executive members for the peaceful exercise.
"I want to thank our just dissolved electoral committee for the wonderful job they did and the newly inaugurated Executive as I pray that God will give us the courage to change the leadership abnormalies confronting our state. "I believe that what we did today remain the best among other political parties. We are all politicians and seeing what's happening outside our party, we are not sharing money here neither are we buying votes but doing justice which is what YPP represents and surely will take over the state come 2023.
"I wish to beg my fellow candidates to know that Politics is not do or die affairs, please, the time of thurggery is over because this electoral bill that our president had just passed is the best thing that APC government had done in Nigeria so, advise people to go and obtain their PVC. "PVC is what we need, don't fight, kill or maim to grab power, advise your brothers and supporters to know that what they need to do as to install their choice candidate is to go and collect your PVC and vote during the election.
Also, Comrade Nwafor Richard, Ohaukwu North state assembly candidate appreciated supporters for founding him worthy to stand as the flag bearer of the party. He challenged his supporters not to engage in politics of rancour and bitterness as era of ballot box snatching is over, hence, voters are now wise that they no longer vote party but candidates based on their antecedents. "To you my supporters, don't carry ballot box for me to win because if it's the will of God, either my opponent is disqualified either in his party or in the court, God has a way of doing things. "Politics of acrimony is over in Ebonyi state, as a candidate who is saddled with this responsibility I am going to provide dividends of democracy not only in my constituency but to entire Ebonyi and I have all it takes to contribute my best to achieving it. Earlier, the state party chairman, Deacon Onyibe Stanley applauded candidates for the successful election and pledged to ensure the party delivered them in the upcoming general election. Onyibe described YPP as youth oriented party that's out to make difference and called on young aspiring politicians to identify with the party as to build better Ebonyi where interest of the people is paramount. Those elected are among: Hon. Isha Chinedu, Senatorial candidate Ebonyi North zone, Hon Nwonu Sunday for senatorial candidate, Miss. Iganga Mary, State assembly candidate of Izzi West constituency, Hon Izaga Eze Chiadigobi, candidate for Afikpo North-West state constituency, Comrade Orji Wilfred, Abakaliki South state constituency candidate, Comrade Nwafor Richard Marvellous, Ohaukwu North state assembly candidate. Meanwhile, the event was followed with the official inauguration of the newly re-elected state executive members of the party as monitored by representative of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security personnel.
