RTEAN: Ebonyi Chairman Pledges To Harmonize Transport Sector,Increase Govt Revenue

The chairman of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, RTEAN, Mr Igwe James, on Thursday pledged to harmonize the transportation system in Ebonyi State as well as help to increase the internal generated revenue, IGR in the State.
Igwe made the pledge while on a courtesy call to the State security consultant, Mr Stanley Okoro Emegha, and solicited for partnership with the government inline with the RTEAN Constitution which requires a synergy between the dou. "Part of our Constitution stated that we should work with the government in power to enable them achieve their aims and also to help the government generate revenue". Igwe said
He noted that the association was formed to sanitize the transport sector and to reduce the rate of illegalities in the parks as well as to ensure the security of commuters, adding that he would ensure harmony within the sector to enable the government check the activities of transporters in the state. " We are here to help sanitize the level of touting in our society, and also to bring all the road users and drivers together, to enable government checkmate the illegalities on our roads". He added. The State security consultant, Mr Stanley Okoro Emegha, said the state is willing to partner with the association in progress, and advised them to work within the provisions of the law to help generate revenue for the government.
He equally pledged to assist them in every way possible, noting that the state government is working towards ensuring that the state is not left behind in areas that concerns it's development.
