From Nwogha Ndubuisi, Abakaliki
Izzi Brothers Association,IBA, Port Harcourt Branch has backed the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Ebonyi State governorship candidate, Rt Hon Francis Nwifuru and Senatorial candidate of Ebonyi North District, Barr Onyekachi Nwebonyi as their choice candidates in the upcoming general election.
The group made the declaration during their solidarity homage to the senatorial candidate in his Abakaliki residence.
According to their spokesperson, Mr Ifeanyi Ogbodo hinted that the decision to adopt both candidates were based on their antecedents and impact in the previous positions they had held.
The group leader noted that Ebonyi people in diaspora are overwhelmed with the transformational legacies currently witnessed by Umahi led government in the state and assured the party candidates of their support.
Mr Ogbodo described the choice of Hon Nwifuru and Nwebonyi as the biggest prayer answered by God using the governor as the first state to implement "Not Too Young To Run" mantra demand by the country's citizens.
"We've heard alot about how Barr Onyekachi Nwebonyi built houses for widows, indigent persons, scholarship for our youths and all sorts of empowerment and deemed it necessary to organize this solidarity rally to thank him and the APC gubernatorial candidate, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru to tell them that we in diaspora are with them and ready to give them our votes as thank you gift.
"For us, FON represents: Francis, Onyekachi and Nwankpa and these people have given us reasons to say bye bye to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who disappointed our people by introducing divide and rule system of politics to bring division in the state after many years of our practicing zoning system.
On his part, the traditional ruler Izhi people in Port Harcourt, His Royal Highness, Eze Austin mgboko admonished supporters of the speaker and the senatorial candidates not to relent in galvanizing support for their principals as God is the giver of power.
"There's what His Excellency said that will remain fresh in our memory and that's power comes from God."
"We are going to use our numeric strength to give you bulk votes for we Izhians in Lagos. our number maybe appear much as we came with four buses but during the general election will bring everybody home in tenths of vehicles with our already transferred votes."
Responding, the flag bearer of Ebonyi North All Progressives Congress, candidate, Barr Nwebonyi(Ohamadike) applauded the group for their sacrifices in ensuring right leaders ascend to power in the state and assured of proper representation.
He pledged to reciprocate the gesture if he succeeds as the next Senator representing the zone, and added that his assumption of office would help curb street hawking among the youths by introducing schemes that would be beneficial to both graduates and school leavers.
"Anywhere you are support us with your PVC, we have programme for our people in Port Harcourt, Lagos and others states who have identified with us."
" I have built 45 houses and over 400 motorcycles. Some people have approached me that what we are doing is exposing them but forgetting that party is about proper representation of your people."
"We are contesting to help our people, to support you in whatever way we can as to improve your business and whatever areas you specialized because if you have reasonable money our youths will not be selling handkerchief in the street."
He added,"Whatever thing you give in support to this journey will be reciprocated when we come into power through your votes."
Continuing, "People have said alot of ills about us because of kindred dictonomy which is abomination to hearing and that we have come to correct."
Do not join the bandwagon of those who preach kindred differences for those who once used it to balkanize us and destroy the future of our yesterday which we're already here to correct." he said
"I will be in Port Harcourt to reward this day's visit and my joy will be your joy, I have produced over thirty graduates with about four in law faculty while some are in full scholarship."
Meanwhile, the event featured the official inauguration of Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru,(FON) Youth Movement executives with special prayer pact led by pastor Mathew Nwigube of Assembly of God Church Ikwere district.
That's good one! FON and OHAMADIKE is a perfect choice for Izzi Nnodo agenda.
