Breaking: Ebonyi APC Chieftain Dumps Party, Picks NNPP Guber Ticket

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain in Ebonyi state, prophet (Dr) Adol Awam on Saturday officially defected from the party to pursue his gubernatorial ambition in the New Nigeria People's Party,NNPP. He made this known shortly after the party primary held at state secretariat Abakaliki.

Declaring the governorship candidate winner of the primary, the electoral Congress Committee's Chairman, Kabiru Getso Haruna described the exercise free and credible and declared Prophet Awam as the flag bearer of the party in Ebonyi state. He commended the candidates for their support in ensuring the exercise was free of rancour. Earlier in his speech, the gubernatorial candidate, prophet Awam applauded members for believing in them to fly the flag of the party and assured them that the party would take over Ebonyi State in upcoming general election.

Prophet Awam who was once Ebonyi Local Government Area chairman hinted that he's coming into power to replicate what he did while in the council. The Governorship candidate who appreciated the previous administrations that have served in the state maintained that he's bringing his wealth of experience into governance. He pointed out that the people of the state are in dire need of government who will bring food on their table and assured the people that his administration would tackle the challenge immediately he assumed office. He explained that the greatest enemy facing the country is failure of APC government to tackle joblessness mostly among the youths and promised to ostensibly empower the youth through small and medium scale enterprise.

prophet Awam who said the state needs a new narrative said his administration would focus on human capital development while maintaining the infrastructure already on ground for the interest of the state. Also, the state party chairman, Hon.Chukwu Solomon and party guber aspirant, Nwenu Ibeogu commended the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso for his dream to bringing positive change in the country The event was followed with the official unveiling of the Deputy Governorship candidate, Engr.(Mrs) Nkechinyere Benedict Okechi.
