Reward-for-hardwork: Gov. Umahi To Bag CON Award

Ebonyi State Governor, and Chairman, South East Governors' Forum, David Umahi has been nominated for a national honour award of Commander of the Order of Niger(CON) by president Muhammad Buhari. This was as contained in a statement made available to Journalists in Abakaliki, stating that the recognition was based on his achievements in office.
According to the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Chooks Oko noted that the approval was contained in a letter forwarded to the Governor by the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs. Okoo stated that the recognition was based on Umahi's unequalled track records of performance within seven years in office as a Governor of Ebonyi state. "His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR has approved the conferment of National Honours Award of Commander of the order of the Niger, CON on Governor David Nweze Umahi. "The approval was contained in a letter forwarded to the Governor by the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator George Akume on Monday. It reads further, "The Minister in the letter emphasized that the choice of Engineer Umahi for this prestigious National Honours Award was sequel to the Governor's unequalled track record of performance within seven years in office as Governor. "The investiture of the Governor and other deserving Nigerians is slated to hold in Abuja on Tuesday October 11, 2022.
