Painstakingly evaluating the party, the state coordinator, said the Peoples Democratic Party had proven to be more proactive in deepening democracy not like the opposition All Progressives Congress which brought high level of economic misfortune and insecurity to the zone.
He also noted that Atiku/Okowa’s ambition offers new hope for the economic growth, security and revamping all the critical sectors in the country. According to Egwu, "Ndigbo should make no mistake in choosing anyone from Southwest as the President of Nigeria. "Igbo's has supported Southwest several times but they fail to reciprocate the gesture. Ndigbo has made sacrifices to the people of Southwest but the result we get is disappointment.
"Tinubu/Shettima Presidential ticket is alliance against Ndigbo and we must prove them wrong by supporting our own.  He added, "We want to use this opportunity to call on the people of the South East to support and vote for the PDP presidential candidate for economic rebirth, empowerment, infrastructural development and most importantly, inclusive governance.
