Flood: Reps member, NEMA distributes relief materials to over 5,000 victims in Ebonyi

Member representing Ikwo/Ezza Federal constituency in the House of Representatives and deputy chairman house committee on poverty alleviation, Hon Chinedu Ogah in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency,(NEMA) on weekend distributed relief materials to over 5,000 flood victims in Ebonyi state. The beneficiary communities are: Ekpaomaka, Ndufu Alike, Igbudu, Ndegu Echara 1 and 2, Ndegu Inyimagu and Ndegu Igbudu. Declaring the distribution exercise open at Ekpaomaka, Ikwo South East Development Center headquarters, the Director General of the Agency, Alhaji Mustapha Habib Ahmed, thanked Comrade Ogah for his leadership ingenuity.
Habib represented at the event by the South East zonal coordinator, Thickman Tanimu, described the Reps member as a sincere Leader ready to serve his people. He added that Comr Ogah's genuine efforts in ensuring that the materials gets to the victims and at the affected communities are commendable. "In Ebonyi over 50,000 persons were affected and in Ikwo/Ezza federal constituency,over 40,000 people were affected by the flood. "We are here today to flag off the distribution of the items and we are assuring you people that more items will be made available to the victims."
Speaking, the federal lawmaker, Comrade Ogah commended the Agency for their support and encouragement which according to him will help fulfil the transformational agenda of president Muhammad Buhari. Ogah hinted that the essence of his election into office was to represent the people, hence, would stop at nothing to ensure the affected communities received succor. He appealed to the people to embrace and vote for the All Progressives Congress, APC, from its presidential candidate to the house of assembly as to continue bringing dividends of democracy to the area.
Lending their voices, the Ikwo East Development Center coordinator,Hon John Ogodo and Hon Itumo Regina, APC ward chairman Igbudu ward 2, commended Hon Ogah for fulfilling all his campaign promises and assured him of block votes for APC in the area. He added that efforts are on ground to bring permanent solution to the flood disaster, even as, he's negotiating with National Boundary Commission to bring permanent peace in the war thorn areas.

In their separate reactions, beneficiaries among Mrs Angelina Ituma and Mr Onuorah Nwakpu appreciated the lawmaker for his proactive and proper representation and assured him of landslide victory for the All Progressives Congress candidates in the state. Nwakpu solicited for the creation of more wards at Inyimagu ward as to attract more dividends of democracy in the area. Meanwhile items distributed includes bundles of zinc, bags of rice, beans, corn, foam mattress, bundles of mat, bedsheet, wears and others.
