Umahi sacks aide, withdraws state award

Ebonyi state Governor, David Umahi on Tuesday sacked one of his Aides, Collins Eze over alleged acts of gross misconduct. The governor, however, ordered for the immediate withdrawal of the state award alongside other property belonging to the state government.
Umahi made this known in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government/ Coordinating Commissioner, Dr Kenneth Ugbala. According to the statement:"His Excellency, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr Dr David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE, CON, has ordered the immediate indefinite suspension of the Special Assistant to the Governor on EAs STAs and TAs Affairs, Mr Collins Eze from office for acts of gross misconduct. "As a direct consequence of this indefinite suspension, His Excellency, the Governor has, in exercise of his powers as enshrined in the State Honours Law, 2022, approved the cancellation and withdrawal of the honours award recently given to Mr Eze by the state government. It added, "Accordingly, Mr Collins Eze is directed to hand over all government property in his possession to the Secretary to the State Government and Coordinating Commissioner before the the close of work on Wednesday, 28th December, 2022." It is recall that Mr Collins Eze who until his dismissal served as Special Assistant to the Governor on EAs STAs and TAs Affairs was one of those who was honoured by Governor Umahi over his contributions to the development of the state.
