Non State Security Outfits'll Not Participate In Ebonyi Election-CP

Ebonyi state Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Clement Roberts, reassured the gubernatorial and other candidates that non-state security actors would not be involved in the electioneering activities in the forthcoming general elections. This he made known during an interactive session between the Nigerian Police Force,Ebonyi State Command, and the candidates in Abakalik, Friday. The DCP stated that only security outfits permitted by law, as outlined in section 92 of the 2022 Electoral Act, would be allowed to participate in the election.
In his address, the DCP emphasized the police's commitment to remain neutral and impartial during the election process. He also expressed his willingness to work with all stakeholders to ensure a fair and democratic election. Speaking, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Mrs. Benedicta Okochi, spoke on behalf of the NNPP Gubernatorial candidate, Prophet Dr. Adol Awam, and pledged the party's full cooperation and compliance with all legal provisions and security agencies involved in the election.
She also called on other political parties to follow suit and promote peace and fair play during the election process. Other gubernatorial Candidates present during the session are Dr Andrew Opoke, YPP, Ambassador Lawrence Nwuruku, LP, Mrs Ugboaja Cordelia, Action Alliance and Senator Paulinus Igwenwagu of People's Democratic Party.
