Poll: I'm True Winner Of Abakaliki North~ PDP Candidate Protests

From Nwogha Ndubuisi, Abakaliki
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Candidate in Abakaliki North State Constituency, Mr Nwoke Chidi Victor appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to declare him winner of Saturday 18 March election. Nwoke who contested for Ebonyi House of Assembly to represent Abakaliki North State Constituency explained that 6 out of 179 polling units that were disrupted by suspected political hooligans not enough to declare the area inconclusive. Addressing newsmen in Abakaliki, the House of Assembly Candidate, Mr Nwoke stated that he was leading with 365 votes against his closest opponent, Mr Maxwell Umahi, contestant of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
He tasked the electoral umpire to observe the new electoral law which stipulated that "where there's willful obstruction of the election, there should accredit the polling units with zero vote and shall not count in the application of the margin of lead principles which said they should conclude the process, thereby, declaring me as the winner. "I appeal with the INEC to declare me as the winner because I successfully won this election," he said He emphasized that if INEC insisted on re-run in the six polling units called on supporters to come out en mass and cast their votes and defend it. "But, if INEC insisted that there will be re-run, I am calling on my supporters to come out en mass that day and vote for the Peoples Democratic Party with assurance that we are going to win again.
"However, I am appealing to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to declare me as a winner because I won in the 18 March election and did not see any reason of declaring my Constituency inconclusive considering what the electoral law says." He, however, congratulated Ebonyi State Governor-Elect, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for his landslide victory, among other elected candidates during the polls. Recall that the Ebonyi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs Onyeka Ugochi declared five state and one federal Constituencies results inconclusive in recent governorship and State House of Assembly elections over political violence.
