Easter: Secretary EBHA Service Commission Challenges Christians On Right Attitude Toward Leaders

The Secretary of Ebonyi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Mrs. MaryRose Chinwe Ezaegu has urged the Christian faithful and all Ebonyians to always let the doctrine and significance of the death of Jesus Christ to manifest in their daily dealings most especially as they relates to their leaders. Speaking on the Easter celebration, Mrs. MaryRose Ezaegu recalled the biblical injunction that leadership comes from God and that all subjects must obey the authorities of the leaders drawing her examples from the followers of Jesus Christ, who did not once disobey orders from Christ, so as Jesus was obedient to His Heavenly Father, even in the face of death. She maintained that the death of Jesus Christ as symbolized by the Easter celebrations indicated the salvation of mankind from the shackles of sins as committed by Adam and Eve and that Christians should avail themselves of the opportunities presented by the resurrection of Christ to be Christ-like in all their dealings. Narrowing the message down to the happenings in Ebonyi State since the assumption of Engr. Dave Umahi into office as the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Mrs. MaryRose Ezaegu said that the Governor made everybody to ascertain that the Biblical saying that “when the righteous is on the throne people rejoice” is true. She further stated that the lives of Ebonyi people have been transformed both spiritually and humanly because the government of the state under the leadership of Engr. David Umahi has taken the bull by the horn by drawing people closer to God through construction of Ecumenical Centre and total transformation of Ebonyi State, through infrastructural development. The Ebonyi State House of Assembly Service Commission Secretary used the Easter message to congratulate the Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and Governor Elect of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for his victory during the Governorship election and commended him for his pragmatism and team spirit that made the present Assembly to be result oriented with a lot of achievements.
