Fathering Sunday: Ebonyi North Senator-Elect, Nwebonyi Felicitates With Catholics

Ebonyi North Senator-Elect, Barr Onyekachi Peter Nwebonyi has felicitated with Catholic fathers on the occasion commemorating Fathers' Day. Nwebonyi in a statement described fathers as pillar of every home, hence, challenged them to be role model to their children. The former Ebonyi Peoples Democratic Party, PDP chairman called on christian fathers to be responsible as they bear the brunt of raising their children in the fear of God, building and shouldering the expected responsibilities. According to him, "I, Chief Barrister Onyekachi Nwebonyi, the Senator-elect for Ebonyi North Senatorial district, heartily congratulate the Christian fathers all over the world especially those from my constituency on the auspicious occasion of Fathering Sunday on 7th May, 2023. "Fathers are the pillars of the society. They are the symbol of dutifulness, diligence, industry, forbearance and forthrightness. Christian fathers bear the brunt of raising their children in the fear of God, building the home, and shouldering enormous family responsibilities. He lauded christian fathers for their contributions to peace and development of healthy society. " Interestingly, despite the onerous tasks vested on the christian fathers, they radiate happiness, hope, resolute calm, cheerfulness, equanimity and love not only in their homes but the larger society. "It’s against this background that I therefore happily felicitate with all the Christian fathers from Ebonyi North Senatorial district on this year’s Fathering Sunday. It’s my fervent prayers that God Almighty will continue to strengthen and embolden you to creditably carry out your roles as Christian fathers. "Be rest assured that I will sponsor bills aimed at bettering the lots of fathers in Nigeria. I will initiate policies and programmes that will impact positively on your families. Ebonyi North Senatorial district will surely have a breath of fresh air. "It’s heartwarming to note that over two hundred students from primary, secondary and tertiary institutions are on my scholarship scheme. I have also built 50 houses for indigent families. These interventions are aimed at reducing the burden from parents. "As your elected Senator, I will expand the scholarship and other welfare schemes to accommodate a greater number of beneficiaries. Be resilient and responsible as I assure you of better days ahead. Once more, happy Fathering Sunday to all the good Christian Fathers out there."he concluded
