Ebonyi Sports' Commissioner Vows To Revamp Sector, Assumes Office

Ebonyi state Commissioner for Youths and Sports Hon. Richard Ugo Idike has vowed to revamp the ministry.
Idike who formally resumed office on Thursday, June 23rd, 2023 called for synergy among staff to enable them achieve the mandate of the new administration in the sector.
The state Commissioner called members of staff to work in unity as to enhance potentials in the Ministry.
He explained that having being part of the Ministry for long time and know their problems would utilize the opportunity in fulfilling the directive of the state governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru to revive sporting sector in the state.
The Commissioner who lauded the state governor for his appointment also noted that the ministry would soon kick off inter school sports games, and added that plans are on ground to establish State football team.
He commended the past administration for repositioning the sporting sector by making Pa Ngele Oruta township stadium a benefiting place and ongoing Olympic Stadium and stated that the project would be completed under his watch.
He also pointed out the important of time, and noted that he would not tolerate absenteeism, lateness and other poor attitudes toward duties, hence, warned against disunity and gossiping.
He called for team work assuring the staff of open door policy and reward for diligence performances.
Earlier the most senior Directors at the ministry of Youths Development and Sports, Mr. Lawrence Orji welcome the commissioner and his aides to the Ministry.
Orji who briefed the Commissioner of activities under the ministry and the sectors under it assured him of the staff readiness and support to take the sector to higher level.
The Head of Department administration, Mr. Silas Oginyi on his part, acknowledged that the staff are happy having him special with the unveiling of his agenda to carry everyone along and pray that the Almighty God would grant him wisdom to achieve the given mandate.
