Ebonyi: Prioritize in Rural Development, Market Leader Begs Gov Nwifuru

The chairman of Foodstuff regional market Abakaliki, Mr Chidi Umeh has commended the appointment of youths in the government of Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. Umeh who urged Governor Nwifuru to prioritize on rural development made the call during the interaction with our reporter in Abakaliki, the state capital. Speaking, the market Chairman, applauded the state governor for bringing youths in the business of governance and noted that such development has challenged them to work in synergy with the elders as to offer best of service to the people. While he rated steps taken by the new administration high especially the plan recruitment of personnel in the 13-general hospitals in the state, noted that the government should pay more attention in rural electrification and road network linking hinterlands to the ring road for easy transportation of farm produce to the major markets in the state. He emphasized that water reticulation is another important area the new administration should pay attention as such would help reduce scarcity of drinkable water in the dry season, as well, curtail the break of cholera. The state chairman who appreciated the governor for the utmost attention given to the area of security also appealed for the construction of road leading to the market and public toilets inorder to control open defecation in the area.
