Ebonyi Deputy Speaker Enjoins Town Union President On Community Dept

The Deputy Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon.Chinedu Onah says the town union presidents have a crucial role to play in the development of any community. Onah stated this yesterday while playing host to the Association of Town Union President, Ohaukwu Local Government Area.
The Deputy Speaker noted that as the leaders of communities, the town union Presidents should partner with the political class to ensure speedy development of their communities. He explained that the Ebonyi State Government would not relent in attending to their needs and urged them to be supportive to the state government under the leadership of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. He assured the town union Presidents of effective representation and advised them to always make people to adhere to the traditional values which abhor all types of crimes in the society. Speaking earlier on behalf of Ohaukwu town union Presidents, the Coordinator of the association, Hon Simon Ogo Onwe noted that the town union presidents' visit were to express their happiness for the elevation of Rt. Hon. Chinedu Onah as the Deputy Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly. He added that the effective representation of the Deputy Speaker had made the town union Presidents to show their support and cooperation which he said would assist him in discharging his duties. He appealed for payment of monthly stipends to the town union presidents by the local governments. In their separate speeches, the former Permanent Secretary Ministry of Solid Minerals and town union president of Okposhi-Eheku Community, Deacon Elijah Ituma, and his counterpart in Umuogudu Akpu Community, Engr. Ferdinand Agbo commended the Deputy Speaker for his humility, peaceful posture and prayed God to continue to give him wisdom, vision and focus.

    The earliest the town union leaders start to partner with the political sector, the betterment of such community cos it will faster the growth and development of such community.
