Breaking: 10th NASS: Senator Nwebonyi Tips To Replace Umahi As Deputy Leader

Sequel to the resignation of the Senator representing Ebonyi South and now Ministerial nominee, Chief David Umahi, the senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Senator Barrister Onyekachi Peter Nwebonyi has been ticked to serve as Deputy Majority leader of the 10th Assembly.

Recall that Senator David Nweze Umahi, was recently elected as Deputy leader of the Senate prior to his appointment and successful screening for Ministerial position. According to release made available by one of his aides, Valentine Nworie, the senator representing Ebonyi North zone will be replacing Senator Umahi for the position as Deputy Majority leader of the new assembly. The statement reads:

"The Senate having observed the scintillating pedigree, vibrancy and exceptionally commitment of Distinguished Senator Nwebonyi has concluded plans for him to replace Senator Umahi, the Minister Designate that will soon be leaving the Legislative arm to the Executive arm of government. "It is an indisputable fact that, Senator Nwebonyi will be joining the leadership cadre of the tenth Senate on merit, considering his enormous wealth of knowledge, parliamentary acumen and dexterity, as showcased by the young Senator in both Senate plenaries and other sundry engagements of the Senate. It added, "Recall that Senator Nwebonyi had earlier been appointed into the Special Committee of the Senate, as the Vice Chairman on Public Accounts,while he will also double as the Vice Chairman for Water Resources of the Senate's Standing Committees.
