Ebonyi Council Chairman Hails Team, As Match Ends Goaless

The executive chairman, Ebonyi Local Government Area,Prince Chinedu Uburu has commended the Council's team for their performance in the ongoing Inter-LGA Governor's Cup football competition. Prince Uburu made the remarks at the end of the ninety minutes match that ended goaless between Ebonyi and Afikpo LGA, at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium Abakaliki.

He described the inter Local Government Area governor's cup football competition as a welcome development coming when the people mostly needed it. The Council chairman applauded Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for uniting the state through Sports and promised to take the football competition to the grassroot.

He tasked the technical team to improve in their duty and enjoined youth to take advantage of the ongoing game as to rebuild their football career while they shun social vices. Corroborating Prince Uburu, the vice Chairman Afikpo local government chairman, Hon (Mrs) Josephine Chinwe Nwogo commended the organizer and prayed for formation of female team as to compliment the male counterpart.
