Melodrama As Police Officers, Others Scramble For Flood Relief Materials in Ebonyi

It was a melodrama in old Government House Abakaliki on Tuesday as men of Nigeria Police Force attached to the old government house and its staff looted relief material meant for flood victims in Ebonyi.

Our Correspondent who witnessed the distribution exercise by the South East zonal Coordinator,National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Mrs Ngozi Echeazu observed as police officers and government house staff struggled the food items.

The State Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring, Hon (Mrs) Ann Aligwe who supervised the distribution exercise confirmed the incident and stated that the action of the security men was as a result of hunger in the country.

"Is there anybody who is not hungry? , is Police not a human being?. "So, you want to tell me if you see food and they tell you to carry it, you will leave it because they're Police Officers?. " They don't have wife and children?" she further said
