Ebonyi Lawmaker Distributes Over 100 Bags of Fertilizer To Farmers At Afikpo

By Nwogha Ndubuisi, Abakaliki In their efforts to quell increase food insecurity, the member representing Afikpo South East Constituency in Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon Stephen Orji Igwe has distributed bags of fertilizers worth millions of naira to famers to constituents.

Distributing the fertilizers to farmers at his country home,Ndi Obasi in Edda East of Edda Local Government Area, Hon Orji commended efforts of the State governor, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru who donated the fertilizer to members of State House of Assembly for ownwards distribution to farmers to help reduce food crises in the State. He appreciated the people oriented policies and progress of the present administration in the state especially the governor's approval for the recruitment of State Civil Service workers and approval of constructions to some roads in all communities of the State.

Hon Orji urged the people of his Constituency to keep been supportive to government in order to reap more dividends of democracy. He enjoined his Constituents to continue to be law-abiding and ensure peace and security in the area. The State lawmaker also urged the beneficiaries to the fetilizers to use it judiciously in order to improve on their harvest during harvesting season and say the aim of the government is to improve on the productivity of the farmers, and therefore reduce unemployment rate across the country. In their separate Speeches, the Executive Chairman Edda Local Government Area, Hon Prince Chima Ekumankama, the Commissioner for Skill Development and Job Creation, Hon Elijah Okwu Okporie and SSA to State Governor on Youth Mobilization Ebonyi South Zone, Hon Barr Agwu Dick Dike extolled the virture of the Lawmaker and described him as an exceptional leader that has brought smiles on the faces of the people within a shortest time in office.

The beneficiaries, Mrs Kat Kalu Oko, prince Obasi Uduma Agwu,Envergerlist Innocent Agala, and Elder Moses Kalu Ogbaa appreciated Hon Orji Igwe for his effective representation and described him as a very transparent and honest leader. They promised to continue supporting him and the government of Ebonyi State under Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. Those who attended the event includes former chairman Edda Local Government, Hon Nkama Nkama Ude, all Ward Councilors , the All Progressives Congress party Executives, among others.
