Just In: Nwifuru Was Validly Nominated by APC~Tribunal

The Ebonyi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has ruled that Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru was qualified to contest the March 18 Governorship election in the state.

Accordingly, tribunal declined jurisdiction over the validity of Nwifuru’s nomination by the All Progressives Congress (APC), maintaining that the issue of nomination was a pre-election matter that can only be adjudicated by a High Court. The tribunal held that the PDP and its candidate, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii have not proven that Nwifuru was not qualified to contest the election.
