Recruitment: Ebonyi Lawmaker Tasks State Civil Service Commission On Prudence

The chairman of Ebonyi State House of Assembly Committee on Establishment and Donor Agencies, Rt. Hon. Nkemka Okoro Onumah has called on the State Civil Service Commission to maintain the prudence in its employment procedures so as to ensure viable work force. He gave the admonition while on a familiarization visit to the chairman and members of the commission on Thursday,28th September,2023. According to statement issued by the Public Relation Officer of the Assembly,Mr Egede Sylvester, the state lawmaker, Hon. Okoro-Onumah commended the Commission for the successful employment of health workers in the state adding that the experience and expertise expended during the recruitment process should be replicated in the ongoing recruitment exercise into the State Civil Service. Adding his voice, the member representing Ohaozara East Constituency and member of the Committee, Hon. Chikezie Igu harped on the importance of the recruitment process to the present administration as the Governor Rt. Hon. Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has a vision and the vision must be accomplished. Responding, the chairman of Ebonyi State Civil Service Commission, Chief (Mrs) Catherine Ogbu revealed that seventeen thousand, six hundred and thirty-nine people have submitted an application and that the Commission is set to bring out the shortlisted people. She stated that the State Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru is determined to revitalize and strengthen the state workforce, hence, the various employments in the state. In a vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary in the Commission, Mr. Felix Nwankwo thanked the House Committee for the visit as it will always ginger the Commission into working harder in getting the best hands employed in the state.
