Ebonyi Lawmaker Partners Ministry of Sports On Talent Development

The Chairman Ebonyi House of Assembly Committee on Youths and Sports, Hon Victor Chidi Nwoke has seek collaboration with the ministry of Sports to encourage constituency sporting competition in the state.
However, the Commissioner commended governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for giving the youths their rightful place in the comity of States.
Nwoke made the remarks when he led the House Committee on a familarization visit to Youths and Sports ministry.
The Lawmaker who represent Abakaliki North Constituency maintained that the present administration in the state has created an enabling platform for youth to thrive in thier Contributions to the development of the society through meaningful youth participation.
The Committee Chairman added that the state Governor has foresightedness in the choice of the leadership of the ministry of youth and Sports development which he said has made Ebonyi to be ranking first in many sports activities.
Responding, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon Richard Idike welcomed the Committee and disclosed that the ministry has won 6 medals in nation's tournament and plans has been concluded to have sports School Academy in Ebonyi State.
He equally informed the Committee that the Governor has approved unity Congress in all the 13 local government areas of the state and appealed to the House Committee to give legal backing to the youth Parliament in the State.
Other members of the Committee including Hon Aloysius Nwodo Representing Ebonyi North West Constituency, Hon Celestine Ifeanyi Ogba Representing Onicha East and Hon Chikaodili Nome Representing Ezza North West maintained that the purpose of the visit was to associates with the ministry and stressed the importance of the Ministry to the youth development saying that continuous engagement with the youth would help reduces crimes in the state.
