Ebonyi declares November 25 sanitation day, bans movement from 7 to 10am

The Ebonyi government has declared November 25th sanitation day throughout the state to mobilize residents to clean their environment. This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Victor Chukwu, state Commissioner for Environment and made available to Journalists on Saturday in Abakaliki. According to the statement, the exercise will last between 7am to 10am with the restriction of human and vehicular movement in all parts of the state. "The General Public, especially, the people of Ebonyi State are informed that, there will be a State Wide Sanitation Exercise on Saturday, 25th November,2023 between the hours of 7am to 10am.
Consequent upon the foregoing, therefore, residents of the State are advised to take advantage of the Sanitation Exercise and clear all grasses, drainages/gutters and evacuate wastes within their premises/compounds. "As usual, there will be restrictions of vehicular and human movement, except persons on essential duties like: Security Operatives, Health Officers and Pressmen, who must show valid means of identification.
"Residents of Ebonyi State are further reminded that, Taskforce from the Ministry of Environment and Security Operatives are on ground to arrest and prosecute Sanitation Offenders in line with the Ebonyi State Environmental Sanitation Laws. "Please, help Ministry of Environment to keep Ebonyi State Clean and Green regularly, for the good of everyone.he said
