Ebonyi LP chieftain,others defect to APC

The Labour Party, LP chieftain in Ebonyi state and former Afikpo North/Edda House of Representatives candidate in the February 18th 2023 election,Pharm Anthony Eko and other opposition parties supporters on Monday joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Pharm Eko who decamped alongside his supporters numbering over five thousand people made the disclosure during the official flag off of Ebonyi South senatorial Bye-election rally held in Afikpo.
Receiving the decampees, the executive governor of the state, Rt Hon Francis Nwifuru commended them and assured the people of accomodations in the scheme of things under his administration.
The state governor appreciated stakeholders of Afikpo local government area for turning out en mass in solidarity to the party and urged them to vote the All Progressives Congress senatorial candidate, professor Anthony Ani in the upcoming election for equity and fairness.
He challenged professor Ani not to disappoint the constituents and described Afikpo people as a great clan that never disappoint the state in the history of Ebonyi politics.
Also speaking, the deputy governor, Mrs Patricia Obila highlighted some of the achievements of the governor in his seven months in office including the one hundred thousand naira Christmas bonus to all workers and assured Afikpo people that their support to the party candidate would help stabilize dividend of democracy in the grassroot.
The All Progressives Congress, APC state chairman, Stanley Okoro-Emegha, who was optimistic that the party would win the position appealed to supporters to ensure that their candidate wins landslide in the Bye-election.
Earlier, the former House of Reps candidate, Anthony Eko said that those who had earlier left the All Progressives Congress for other parties were on political leave and reiterated their readiness to ensure that the party won in the February 3rd senatorial Bye-election in the zone.
He reaffirmed their readiness to deliver the party as to prove that the deputy governor, Mrs Patricia Obila who's their daughter is on the ground.
Others who decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC includes members of opposition People's Democratic Party,(PDP, Action Alliance,(AA) and All Progressives Grand Alliance,(APGA)
