Gov Nwifuru receives Ebonyi South senator-elect, Ani
Stakeholders of Ebonyi South Senatorial zone have presented their Senator-elect, Professor Anthony Okorie Ani of All Progressives Congress, APC to Governor Francis Nwifuru.
In a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the governor on Documentation, Dr. Boniface Nwankwo, and made available to newsmen, stakeholders thanked the party and supporters for believing in the candidate.
Presenting the Senator-elect to the Governor at the Presidential Lodge, Ochoudo Centenary City, Abakaliki on Sunday, the Deputy Governor, Princess Patricia Obila said they were able to coast to victory in the poll due to the likeable character of the Party's Flag bearer in the election.
She applauded the Governor and the APC hierarchy for fielding the best in the election, noting that the development made their work less cumbersome in canvassing for votes.
Other Stakeholders, Secretary to the State Government, Professor Grace Umezurike, Senator Sonni Ogbuoji, Chief James Aro Nweke and Professor Chigozie Ogbu thanked the Governor for his moral support to people of the Zone during the electioneering period and pledged that they would remain supportive of his administration.
Receiving the Senator-elect, Governor Nwifuru congratulated people and Stakeholders of Ebonyi South on the emergence of the APC Candidate in the election.
"The victory is not only victory for APC, it is victory for the entire Ebonyi State and victory for Democracy."
He expressed hope that with the mammoth experience of the Senator-elect, people of the Zone would soon begin to reap the good dividends of their choice.
In a remark, the Senator-elect, Professor Anthony Okorie Ani thanked the Governor as well as People and Stakeholders of Ebonyi South Senatorial Zone for their confidence in his ability and assured that he would go all out to justify the huge confidence reposed in him.
