Amana/Ohanku crisis: Ebonyi Govt commences demarcation of boundary

The peace ommittee set up by the Ebonyi state government led by the Commissioner for Land and Survey, Hon Mathew Nwobashi has kicked off the demarcation of the boundary communities of Amana and Ohanku in Ezza South local government area and Ikwo respectively. The state Commissioner for Land and Survey, Hon Nwobashi described the process as successful adding that the two communities have been supportive and enjoined their stakeholders to continue promoting peace in the area.
"All the team came in their good numbers, and we have visited the site. We have equally met some agreement in some certain areas. "Both villages have agreed in some certain areas, like we have measured the land and only remain for our technical to go round and complete the action.
Corroborating, one of the committee members and state Commissioner for Border Peace and Conflicts Resolution,Dr Ilang Donatus commended the team for their commitment in ensuring that peace is achieved in the area and explained that all the necessary mechanism have been put in place by the state governor to ensure that all the communities having boundary crisis is permanently resolved and demarcated.
"We are pleased that these people are following us together resolving the grey area and accepting the points marked as their boundary, and as such, it is a welcome development.
"So, just like here in Amana and Ohanku, the governor formulated this peace committee to ensure that permanent peace is entrenched in all communities of the state.
Our Correspondent reports that the committee measured fifty meters away from the pit and pegged the demarcation area and explained that the technical team would return to the site to complete their work.
