David Umahi federal university expels 8 students

The vice chancellor, David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences, Uburu in Ebonyi state, Professor Jesse Uneke has said that eight students were expelled while twenty three others are facing disciplinary actions for breaching the institution's moral guidelines.
Professor Uneke made the disclosure during the 3rd matriculation ceremony of 2023/2024 academic session on weekend.
The vice chancellor who spoke extensively on the vision of the school-of-the-art institution's plan to raise quality graduates said that the university maintains very strict discipline which are unforgiven when violated.
"This university maintains very strict discipline, the university rules and regulations are unforgiving when they are violated.
"Between the last matriculation and present, the Senate of the university approved disciplinary actions on a total of 31 students depending on the magnitude of their offences.
"8 students were expelled, 3 students received one year suspension, 7 students received one semester suspension, 2 students received two months suspension, 6 students received one month suspension, 1 student received two weeks suspension, and 4 students received warning letter.
He commended the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the state governor, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, the founder of the school who's now Minister of Work, David Umahi and the host Community for their support.
He enjoined parents to continue supporting the school as to achieve the vision of building the overall best university in the country which would serve both medical and educational tourism.
