I'm Peter Obi of Ebonyi Politics~Ezeh

From Ann Agom, Abakaliki
, Abakaliki The House of Representatives Candidate for Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency in the 2023 elections under the platform of the Labour Party (LP), Dr Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh has likened his agenda, and performance both during the campaign and at the polls to that of his party's presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi. Ezeh, an Oxford-trained Entrepreneur dropped the hints at the weekend while interacting with newsmen at Abakaliki, saying he was the strongest candidate among other contenders for the National Assembly elections in Ebonyi State.
It could be recalled that Ezeh's aspiration to become a Federal lawmaker at Nigeria's Lower Chambers was not successful like Obi's for the presidency in 2023. Speaking on his next political ambition ahead of 2027, the next electioneering year, despite the outcome of the 2023 general elections which was not favorable to him, he lamented that Nigerian democracy is still in total mess. The President of Ebonyi Chamber of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture and the Chief Executive Officer of Immaculate Group of Companies described himself as Peter Obi of Ebonyi State politics today in considering the capacity he showed during the 2023 elections. Ezeh, an Ebonyi-born industrialist recalled that within 3 months, he built a coalition that was never seen in the state, by taking away issues of religion, clan, and political divisions. He expressed disappointment that after his victory at the polls, his scores were allegedly sold out by the electoral umpire, and thus, declared no interest in running the next election, owing to his claim that Nigerian electoral processes lack credibility, fairness, and transparency. His words: "Everyone knows I am the Peter Obi of Ebonyi politics judging by the capacity we showed in 2023 HOR and Presidential elections. In 3 months, we built a coalition never seen in Ebonyi politics, we took away issues of religion, clan, and political divisions. "In most instances, other party agents were the people fighting to protect our votes. We were able to match them and surprisingly defeated them even in their so-called strongholds. "Our greatest undoing were those who were planted in our midst by APC, they simply sold us out even before the election. So you ask me if I am preparing for another election, and the answer is unequivocal NO. "We won, but couldn’t protect our votes, many people took risks to vote for us but the system sabotaged their efforts. I won't be putting people in danger unless I know that the electoral system is cleaned up, such that decent men and women can participate. "I participated in the last election based on the assurances from INEC, but those assurances were never taken seriously. I have always wondered how Festus Okoye who was in charge of voter education sleeps at night. He either deliberately lied to the Nigerian people or was thrown under the bus by the system."
