NNL: Abakaliki FC, Godswill Akpabio Football Club Match Ends in Goalless Draw
The Abakaliki Football Club and Godswill Akpabio FC played out a goalless draw in their second home match of the ongoing National League season at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki.
Abakaliki FC , the home side, enjoyed greater opportunities to score , but despite creating several scoring opportunities, both teams failed to convert their chances, leaving spectators yearning for goals in the tense encounter.
The Rice Boys, who had previously drawn 2-2 with Madiba FC and suffered a 5-2 loss to ABS in Kwara State, have now managed just two points from three games.
However, fans observed some high level of improvement in the team’s coordination, but the inability to finish in front of goal remained a concern.
Speaking after the match, Abakaliki FC’s Chief Coach, Ifeanyi Onyedika, expressed dissatisfaction with the result.
He, however pledged to work seriously on the team's middle players and strikers to enable them score goals in the next tournament.
Meanwhile, Godswill Akpabio FC’s Technical Adviser, Patrick Udo, lamented his team’s ongoing scoring drought, noting that they have yet to score any goal in their last three matches in the league games since the season resumed and maintained optimistic that the team would do well in their next match.
