2025: Nwifuru's wife receives first baby of the year at Mile Four Hospital

Ebonyi State first lady, Mrs Mary-Maudline Nwifuru has welcomed the first baby of the year 2025 who is incidentally a baby boy delivered at exactly 12:15 AM at Mile Four Hospital in Abakaliki.

Speaking during the visit, father of the Child, Mr.Jacob Nwogwu who is a civil servant in the Nigerian Correctional Service expressed joy over the gift of the baby boy.

Nwogwu who says the baby happens to be the third child to his family, expressed gratitude to God that his wife, Evelyn Onyinyechi Nwogwu is strong and healthy and thanked the Ebonyi State Government for coming to share in their joy of identifying with the first baby of the year. The wife of the Governor, Mrs Nwifuru described children as Gifts from God, prayed that the family would not lack resources to carter for the child, as the child is a blessing to Ebonyi State and to the family.

However, the wife of the Governor was accompanied by the team lead, Better Health for Rural Women, Children and Internally Displaced Persons Foundation,(BERWO), Professor Nkechinyere Echiegu, Chairman House committee on Women Affairs in Ebonyi state House of Assembly,Mrs Chinyere Nwogbaga, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Felicia Nwamkpuma among others.

Our Correspondent reports that the wife of the Governor, Mrs Nwifuru used the occasion to visit other newly born children including a woman who gave birth to triplet, who are staying back at the Mile Four Hospital for some essential health care provisions, offering them some financial help and medical aides.
