Backlash: Group Backs Senator Nwebonyi, faults Okwesili's ill manner

A socio-political group, People's Frontier Initiative, led by Comrade David Akonuche has lambasted the former State Minister for Education, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili for the truant that occured during the Senate sitting of the committee on privileged and ethics which she abused Deputy Chief Whip, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi.

The group frowned at the ill manner the former minister addressed a sitting senator, Nwebonyi in a hearing of the alleged Sexual harassment by Senator Natasha against the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio. Addressing newsmen in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state capital on Wednesday, the national president, Akonuche described the attitude displayed by the former Minister as uncultured as it does not represent the character of Igbo mother asking a man to 'shut Up' in an opposing manner.

"We know Prof Oby Ezekweseli as a respected woman, regrettably, the recent outburst calling a sitting ranking senator, Barr Onyekachi Nwebonyi to shut up and other unpredictable names is uncalled for and didn't represent her as an Igbo mother, but a touch of parochial and feminism. "Where is that man that you asked that he shut up and you expect him to clap for you? or have you forgotten that the senator you were addressing is a high ranking officer who ordinarily deserve some level of respect from you irrespective of where he comes from, if not that you have been lobbied into the black business like the Chibok saga you falsely championed. "If she doesn't have penchant for free media publicity, where is that woman that will publicly trade abusive words on a man and a sitting senator and after accepting to had done so couple with the video footage, will still go on air to repeat herself telling the entire world that you told a man,to shut up. "Sentiment apart, Ezekwesili did not only fail the womanhood, but consend too low to prove that the #BringBackOurGirls propaganda she championed which brought down president Good luck Ebele Jonathan political ambition was not only charade, but always serving as a stooge to rubbish every successful career politicians from the South zone. "She was used by the opposition to a point that both conventional and social media became awash with Chibok report and now, has given herself for thesame political charade and we, the people of South will not tolerate such embarrassment. The group leader called on the former Minister to withdraw from the Natasha's imbroglio and apologize to the senator representing Ebonyi North district,Barr. Onyekachi Nwebonyi for the public insult. "We advise Ezekwesili to urgently withdraw from the Natasha Akpoti's sexual harassment bringadage as there's more to the story than your usual activism.
