Ebonyi Stakeholders Applaud Senator Ani For Adequate Representation

The members of Onicha Development Union, Abakaliki branch have commended the senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial zone at the upper chamber of National Assembly, Senator Professor Anthony Okorie Ani for his impressive representation.
This was made known by the union chairman, Chief Chijioke Ikwuagwu on April, 18, 2025 during their Easter celebration homage to the senator in his Abakaliki residence adding that the essence of the visit was to identify with him as a member.
He commended Senator Ani for not only making a great impact at the hallowed chamber with his professorship but also bringing a lot of democratic dividends to his constituents and prayed for divine strength upon him.
The chairman also urged the senator to always move around to know the immediate needs of his zone so that he could be lobbying towards the identified areas.
The former chairman and current patron of the union, Elder Dr. Okorie Ogbu described their host as a performing senator who had touched the lives of his constituents in diverse ways.
“As an intelligent person, he had submitted some important bills and still studying the terrain, thus, I am advising my members to be his eyes and ears so that we will be feeding him with essential issues” he said.
Ebonyi State Commissioner for Inter-Party Affairs and Labour Matters, Hon. Philip Ogbonnaya Okorie said that their host had gotten a voice at the National Assembly through many impactful contributions.
“Senator Ani has moved motions that are not only quiet impactful to Ebonyi South Zone but also to Nigeria at large and with my knowledge about him, he is a man to loves peace and knows the value of family system.
“During his day at the classrooms as a lecturer, he had touched man y lives positively across the nation, I can speak affirmatively that he accounted for over 30% of Onicha people that gained admission into various universities” he explained.
He commended the host for being an active member of the union even in proxy and for always identifying with other components of Ebonyi South Senatorial zone by selecting his legislative aides across the district.
Retired Permanent Secretary and Legal Adviser of the Union, Barrister Chukwuemeka Orji commended the host for attracting a lot of projects to the constituents.
“Since he assumed office, the senatorial district has been calm and he has contributed a lot in making good laws for the entire Nigerians, recently, he had extended empowerment programme to his constituents at Lagos State” he said.
Barrister Orji urged Senator Ani to continue the trajectory mostly as people across the zone are appreciating his representation.
In the same vein, the people of Amanato Ezeukwa Development Union, Abakaliki branch under the leadership of Dr. Ogbonnaya Uzor said that the important of the visit was to commend Senator Ani over his performances at the National Assembly.
He commended the host for having impacted many lives positively through empowerments and appealed that his members should always be captured subsequently.
He appealed for the establishments of signature projects involving human development, capacity training, skill acquisition centers and others in his area and the zone at large.
On his part, the vice chairman of the union, Barrister Stephen Amaechi Agbafor said that the elevation of Senator Ani was necessitated by his contribution to humanity and urged him not relent from the course.
“When Senator Ani was nominated for the position, surprisingly those who were criticizing APC government suddenly discarded party differences in their minds and took the race as a collective project until it materialized” he said
The Patron and Retired Permanent Secretary, Elder Ben Chinelo Okike assured the members’ unalloyed support to the host at all times, advised that he should not give room for distraction and prayed for God’s protection upon him.
In his reaction, the host Senator Ani thanked the people and added that he had secured federal jobs for over 30 persons within the period
“My achievements cannot be simplified, in respect to what I have done to my constituents and the persons attached to me are evidences, I have secured jobs for both my constituents and other Nigerians.
“I was not part of last year’s budget due to my lateness at upper chamber, even a dime was not given to me but this year, I am fully on ground and as soon as the processes of procurement and others are completed, the already attracted projects will be manifesting
The Senator mentioned some of the projects to include Information Communication Technology centers to be sited in the zone and other phases of solar street lights.
“I have sponsored bills and motions, I have contributed very well within this period on the floor of the senate and I do not think that anybody will down play what I have done so far” he said.
According him, though it is difficult to satisfy everyone but he would thrive to his utmost in ensuring true representation by fulfilling his electioneering promises and as a result appealed for patience from his people.
