Ebonyi state government has reaffirmed its commitment to renovate the Abakaliki capital city urban roads. The Senior Special Assistant to governor Francis Nwifuru and Director General, Ebonyi State Infrastructure Maintenance Agency (EBIMA), Comrade Ben Nwovu made the disclosure while interacting with newsmen in Abakaliki.
According to the Director General, the state governor has opened streets that were once not motorable and dualized many internal roads in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state capital as a way to improve the socio-economic activities in the state. He applauded the state governor for his determination to also improve inter-community roads at the hinterlands, stating that the state known for its rich agro produce would benefit enermously from it as farmers now bring out their farm produce to the Magret Umahi International market where the market value are triple in price. He emphasized that the two kilometers community road ongoing in all communities in the state when completed would equally boost the state economy while improving development in the rural communities.
Comrade Nwovu who also noted that though the governor has sustained the infrastructural foundation laid by the previous government, that he has as well, invested heavily in rural communities transformation by ensuring that there's water circulation in the three zones of the North, south and central.
"His Excellency, Governor Francis Nwifuru has been silent in most of all his projects including the urban roads dualization among Udi road, Arondizogu, Oraifite, Umuoji, Nnobi, Nwike, Obiora, and several other metropolitan areas which have all been completed. "I am pleased with the governor for thinking Ebonyi first in all his projects which he executes in all parts of the nooks and crannies of the state as no community in Ebonyi that's not currently witnessing road construction including the 2-kilometres which is the community road project, two-storey school block ongoing in the three zones among others.
He adjudged the All Progressives Congress government of governor Francis Nwifuru as the most humane filled administration based on its investment in human capital development saying that the over two hundred post-graduates empowerment programme where Ebonyians were sent abroad for their Masters and Doctorate degree programs would remain significant in the state considering the fact that beneficiaries would extend the gesture to their families while impacting the state on completion of the programme. He also thanked the state governor for restoring peace in all the warring communities in the state and appealed for the people's support for the full actualization of the governor's people charter of needs manifesto in its fullness.
