Governor Nwifuru Mourns Former President, Buhari
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has described the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari as a monumental loss to the nation.
Reacting to the news of the former President’s death, Governor Nwifuru noted that Buhari was a towering figure whose life was marked by selfless service, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of Nigeria.
"From his first appearance on the national stage as Military Head of State in 1984 to his return as a democratically elected President in 2015, President Buhari consistently embodied integrity, courage, and simplicity — values that endeared him to millions of Nigerians," the Governor said.
Governor Nwifuru further described Buhari as more than a national leader to the people of Ebonyi State, referring to him as "a partner in development and a friend to our people."
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Katsina State, as well as to the Federal Government, over what he termed a colossal loss, and prayed for the peaceful repose of the former President’s soul
